It's all official. Silvia and went today to get our driver's licenses transferred and our new license plates. We are officially residents of the state of Washington. It may not seem like a big deal--but when you move around the country as much as we have, it is nice to be settled and have the security of that "I belong," or "I'm home," feeling.
But then add to that this:
When I arrived back at the office today, I had an email from my secretary telling me that all the paper work for our membership transfer to the [--- ---] church was complete.
And it feels good to belong.
Really my family has become like nomads. Washington is the 8th state to issue me a driver's license. We've lived in all four time zones of the continental U.S. But now we are home in a place where we belong.
The truth is I strongly dislike moving (I wanted to say I hate it, but hate is such a strong word). It upsets everything. It disrupts everything. Things go missing or get broken. Don't know anyone... Yet, there is one more move I'm looking forward to making and that is the move HOME.
Home to where Jesus is and all the angels.
Home to the mansion He's building just for my family.
Home to both peace and excitement.
Home to where my citizenship really is--in heaven.
I look forward to Jesus coming and pray it's soon. But in the meantime, I look forward to getting better acquainted with my new surroundings--and my new, soon to be made friends and acquaintances.
